Big Bang and T-ara were revealed to be the top selling artists for the first half of 2012. Big Bang and T-ara dominated in actual album sales and digital album sales, respectively.
Big Bang was in first place with their fifth mini album "Alive", having recorded 267,319 albums sold until May. That was a good 100,000 some records more than the 2nd place group, SHINee, which was next up with 165,411 albums of "Sherlock" having been sold so far this year.
Girls Generation's unit group, Taetiseo, was third with their mini album "Twinkle", recording 139,388 units.
On the digital charts, T-ara's "Lovey Dovey" was number one, followed by Big Bang's "Blue" and "Fantastic Baby". Busker Busker was at fourth place with their hit song "Cherry Blossom Ending". The band didn't do too shabby in the actual album realm either, as they sold 104,180
albums of their debut project.
Solo singer Ailee rounded out the top five.
